September Goals

2nd September 2020

Hello September.

Wow I can’t really believe we’re coming into the last 3rd of the year. I love September – mostly because I’m a September baby and love that it brings autumn with it. Even though it’s been a long time since I was in school or university, and really had that start of term feeling, September always feels like a bit of fresh start for me. It’s where I find my second wind and feel more motivated.

I thought I’d set myself some goals to achieve this year. Nothing too strenuous as I’m enjoying a slower life at the minute with everything 2020 has thrown at us.

1.I’ve been taking part in the Great North Run Solo Challenge where you run 40 runs to celebrate what would have been the 40th year of the race. I’m sad to not be taking part in the half marathon but to be honest my limbs are thanking me. So I’m onto my final 10 runs to complete in time for the 13th – and I’ll be glad to see the back of them.

2. I recently did my first Hot Yoga class. I never really knew if yoga was for me, but I loved the class I went to so much. It also felt really safe, and as I’m not quite ready to head back to the gym I think doing some more yoga classes is a great replacement for these colder months.

3. Once again I’m back on the driving lessons so I want to get as many in for this month as I can. But my main focus is going to be passing my theory test (again!) so that I can hopefully gain a driver’s license this year.

4. Another exciting thing to come with September is the Oxfam Second Hand September Challenge. So for this month, I’m pledging to only buy second half clothing. In the past I’ve given up shopping for three months and tried to make some small steps towards being sustainable, so here’s hoping I can keep this up.

5. Finally, I want to get back into being creative again. As I said, I’ve no big plans for anything too demanding and I don’t want any pressure, but I miss turning my hands to creative projects. So whether that’s writing some more blog posts, making my clay earrings, or just doodling, I want to embrace being home more and get those creative juices flowing!

Hopefully, you’re all well. I’m definitely going to be hunting for autumn this month through the little moments. I’ve also changed my Instagram direction towards embracing those average little everyday moments, and this coming season is the perfect time to get stuck in on that.
