With Black Friday just been and Cyber Week deals over the internet, it can easily be overwhelming to shop the high street and online for all your Christmas presents. But what if you could support some more independent business over the festive period?
This year I’m really trying to be a little more sustainable when it comes to Christmas gifts, and of course supporting more local and independent businesses. Something I love the idea of, is the gift of crafts. Whether that’s making something myself for someone, or even giving them their own craft gift to make something themselves.
A company I’ve recently discovered is that of MakeBox & Co. A truly adorable crafts company, that even offers up a subscription box so that you can try your hand at different types of crafts regularly.
Whether you want to make your own wreath (something I’m particularly eyeing up) or even want to have a go at making macramé plant holders, there is something for everyone on this site. There’s a range of boxes to choose from, so like I said before you can choose to make the product yourself and gift that to your loved one, or if you have a particularly DIY enthusiast in your life then just gift the box itself.
Some of the products even allow for the option to specialise depending on what tools you have at home, for example whether you have a glue gun or not. There are also easy to follow tutorial videos – so you can take your own time with the project. Right now they have a range of Christmas ideas and you can even get 20% off your first box.
Who doesn’t love a personalised hand-crafted gift at Christmas? Or even as birthday gift. I think this is just a really lovely and thoughtful gift for someone or even yourself. It’s so nice to take a break from fast paced life, and sit down to do some manually with your hands that isn’t furiously live tweeting I’m A Celeb (no judgement!).
Head to the MakeBox & Co for all the information and to discover what products are on offer.
